Christmas certainly isn't cancelled for the West End community this year, we are just doing things differently this. As we can't have our usual Christmas celebrations at the centre we decided to take Christmas out into the community.
Wow what a week! it has been pretty non stop but it has been amazing to get out and about seeing everyone, having a good chat and spreading some Christmas cheer. So this is what we have delivered out into our community this week:
30 three course Christmas dinners, 95 Christmas cards, 70 Christmas goody bags and West End delivery service passing cards and gifts between people who haven't been able to see each other for months.
Angela said "Just a note to say a big thankyou to all involved in my Christmas drop off from Fran- it was so lovely to see a familiar face in our now very small world, wish we could have had a chat over a cuppa. Very thoughtful and made my day"
We would like to say a massive thanks to Mark Scott of Arcon Commercial Developments for paying for the Christmas dinner and to everyone else who contributed gifts to the goody bags.
We usually have a Christmas wreath making workshop but this year as it wasn't possible Dan, also know as our naughty elf, has made an easy to follow instruction video which is also on our website follow this link A thrifty Yorkshire mans guide to simple Christmas wreath making (thewestendcentrebradford.org)
