A party, a welcome and a few goodbyes!
As summer comes to an end and we head into a new season, and a few changes at the Centre it's time for another party and celebration.
It was a chance to say a big hello and welcome to our two newest members of the West End team, Ruth and Liana. What better way to welcome them by getting stuck in, meet everyone and become part of the West End community than with a party!
It was also a time to say thank you and ta-ra to two people who have become a big part of the Centre. Darragh first came to us over a year ago on a student placement. He enjoyed himself so much that he stayed on! He has now headed back to Uni for his final year. When Darragh first joined us, he was very quiet, but he soon found his feet and became a familiar face around the Centre. He supported wherever he was needed, taking on all sorts of roles across his three days with us. Charlie also joined us as a student on placement and stayed on as a volunteer. He’s now moved into a job, but before he left, he was a big part of Centre life, planning and running games with our Pick and Mix Group, helping out in the kitchen and getting involved wherever he could.
We’re going to miss you both!
Thank you, Darragh and Charlie, for all your hard work, support and the time you’ve given to the Centre. We wish you both the very best for whatever comes next!

D- Missed coming and happy to be back because its so welcoming and I’ve made so many friends.
B - Loved the atmosphere, everyone talking and mixing with each other. Loved the outside games.
K – Lovely atmosphere. Lots of friendships, laughter and different faces coming together. Organisers have done a fantastic job, volunteers as always really stepped up to support.
M - Really enjoyed everything and gave me a reason to push myself to get out of the house today. The food was amazing and would love to see the Jolof rice be a main on the wed lunch menu one week.
