West End Walkers were on a bit of a ramble in Judy Woods this week.
The group had talked about a walk around Judy Woods as many hadn’t been before and were keen to see what it was all about.
Judy Woods is a group of woodlands, which comprises of Individual woodlands Jagger Park Wood, Royds Hall Great Wood, Old Hanna Wood and Low Wood. Did you know that Judy woods is a fragment of a once extensive forest that stretched to the Midlands!

Our walk was around Low Wood, following the Fungi Trail where there are many different types of Fungi. Been under the trees, with the stream and the wildlife it really did feel like we were part of nature a very relaxing place to be away from the hustle and bustle.
Over 40, 000 combined steps completed on this walk on top of the normal daily steps!
West End Walkers are out and about again on Thursday 4th September with a trip to Saltaire, meeting 9.30am at the centre.
This is what you told us
Rosie – Nice to go somewhere different, very quiet, the more walking I do the better my walking is.
D – First time I have been here, a good walk in a nice place, always better with others to walk and talk with.
Hugh – A nice walk that was good for me very accessible, not somewhere I would be able to come without support, thank you for bringing me. It was so peaceful and I felt very calm when I went home.
Stephen – Such a lovely place, I do like nature it helps me to relax, I would like to come back in Autumn to see all the different colours of the trees.
