We live in a busy town but we don’t have far to go to enjoy some amazing views, and there’s always lots of new places to try. People talked at the centre about what sort of walk they wanted to do and about getting out into some open space, something accessible for everyone and somewhere we have not been before. Thornton Viaduct is a place lots of people had heard about but never been! After some research we realised the walk was nice and flat with fabulous views. The Viaduct is only a stones throw away from the birthplace of the Bronte Sisters. Yes they was not born in Howarth but the brother was!

We met at the centre, had a brew and a natter while working on how the group would travel to and from Thornton Viaduct. Also who would like to walk those extra steps and who would like to wait at the café, enjoying the shade.
What a fab wellbeing sunshine walk, laughter, friendships, open spaces, nature and some peacocks on route too. The group walk around 43,000 steps between them and easily exceeded our goal of 20 minutes movement a day!
Keep a lookout for our next wellbeing walk adventure!
A thank you to The Junction Lodge Café for having us, we all enjoyed our lunch and somewhere to relax.
