West End Walkers travelled a bit further a field over to Harrogate in North Yorkshire, why Harrogate? A nice trip through the country side, some of our walkers have never visited Harrogate and was somewhere they wouldn’t go on their own, interested in the history of Harrogate and wanted to see the Valley Gardens.

The walkers started the adventure together and got the bus to Bradford town centre, then train to Leeds. What an adventure navigating around Leeds train station to find our stop for Harrogate. Had a quick brew at the Victoria shopping centre, then enjoyed getting steps in while looking around the shops and grabbing a bargain or two.
Came across St Peters church we had a look inside as this place has some history with interesting features. A church has stood on this site for over 150 years.
Then a well-deserved rest near the Turkish Baths at the Tulip Café we tried a Turkish tea and a natter.
Had a lovely walk around VALLEY GARDENS and relaxing with 5 minutes of Mindfulness in the Japanese Garden before heading back to the train station.
We did a tally at the end of the day and we were amazed that they had completed over 8,000 steps each without realising. Over 70,000 steps within the group.
8000 steps is around 4 miles, you could walk from the centre to Thornton, Birth place of the Bronte Sisters.
70000 steps is around 34 miles you could walk from the centre to Settle in North Yorkshire and call in for a cuppa at the Naked Man Café!!
