We are back again this year with our annual poppy display. We take great pride in our poppy displays and it's our way of remembering those who gave their lives for us. People from across all our groups have done their bit to help bring it all together into a wonderful display.
Sandra told us "it has been a lot of hard work over the past month or so but it has been worth it as the display looks really good and it's the least we can to do to respect those that are no longer with us."
As well as our display in the Church at St Oswald's this year we have made large outside poppies using recycled materials inspired by the BD is Lit Installation that we took part in recently with visiting artist Alison. If you pass St Oswald's in Little Horton be sure to have look, you will see them hanging from the trees.
Owen, who is a Veteran, is a regular at the centre coming into meet friends and join our Wednesday lunch club, has been doing his bit over the past few weeks he has been out and about selling poppies.
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.
