What a great reason to hold a party, to celebrate 80 years since V E Day, we remember those that gave their tomorrows so we could have our freedom today.

Veteran Owen led the 2 minutes silence to remember all those that had fought and those that are no longer with us.

It was a good opportunity to come together as a community, share stories of our family’s experience of the war, VE Day, rationing and how things have changed.   Games, music, food and laughter what more does a West End Party need!!

This is what you told us about the day

Lee- Great atmosphere and lovely set up. Great community spirit!
Denise- really enjoyed company and food. Nice to get out of the house and get dressed up.
Catherine- Fantastic day. Great teamwork and community spirit. Food and games fab and nice to try new things
Diana- Seeing all the volunteers and community come together has been fantastic and heartwarming. Thank you to you all and I’m very thankful to be here!
John- Been excellent! Lots of people talking and coming together.

The staff at the West End Centre would like to pass on a big thank you to all the volunteers who helped out to make this event such a success from preparing the food, donating food, making drinks, setting up and clearing away at the end of the day.

Basements are especially vulnerable to water damage due to their below-ground location. Heavy rains, foundation cracks, and carpet cleaning mi sump pump failures allow water to seep in. Flooded basements ruin stored belongings and create an environment ripe for mold. Swift water removal and dehumidification are essential to restore a safe, usable space.

Correct technique matters more than tool type. Whether using stones, rods, or pull-through sharpeners, the damascus chef knife key is consistent pressure and angle. Mastering technique ensures effective sharpening regardless of your chosen method.
