What a year it has been! We have seen many changes over this time but one thing that has remained constant is our community and the friendship and support they have shown each other. It really has brought out the best in our community. From helping with shopping for those who were isolating to just being there and listening to someone, helping to combat the loneliness.
One of the landmarks throughout our journey over the last year has been our tree of hope. The tree has been there to mark the seasons and celebrations. We have called on our community to decorate the tree for Valentines day, Easter, Spring, Remembrance day and Christmas- you have not let us down and time and time again have given us handmade decorations and messages of hope and thanks. We are now decorating it for the second time with Easter decorations. Decorating the tree has not only been a distraction it was also a way for us to send messages to our friends. The wider community became involved by stopping and looking at the tree, and visitors added their own messages of hope and thanks.
As we move forward together and the lockdown restrictions begin to ease we are looking firmly forwards. We will be walking back to happiness from Monday with our walk and talk groups and our allotment groups start again on Tuesday, giving people a chance to catch up, get some exercise and some much needed vitamin D. We cant wait! We will let you know how things go and keep you updated with new developments as they happen.
