If you know us you know we like any excuse for a bit of a do! Such a great turn out over 40 of you came to join us to celebrate the 3rd birthday of our Monday Market. A true show of community support and spirit. Bacon, Sausage or egg butties, free raffles followed by a cake, we even sang happy birthday to ourselves !!! We had donations of homemade corned beef slab, onion bhajis and vol au vents. Yum Yum.

We started the Monday Market during the cost of living crisis three years ago, offering up to 15 items of non-perishable food and a bag of fresh fruit and veg for £5.  This has grown over the last three years we now also offer preloved items for 50p and a Foot Clinic service with Yorkshire Footcare every 8 weeks at a cost of £25.  The Market is also a place for people to meet, stay have a chat with others and have a brew and some breakfast.   We have other services coming into the centre to talk about their services and support they can offer and complete questionnaires,  such as PCSO’s, Green Doctor, University Research, Food Savers, Social Prescribers, Cancer questionnaires to name a few  The Market has allowed more volunteer opportunities to give experience in the kitchen, stock taking, stacking shelves, customer service and much more.

None of this would have been possible without you showing your support and using the Market so a big thank you.

Also thanks to Maria and Clare from Foodsavers for joining our celebration and the card and goodies!

We spoke to you about what the market means to you and this what you told us.

Kevin - Helps me budget, nice to get breakfast/cuppa and gets me out of the house.
Denise - It’s a lifeline to me and others. Nice to be able to have a reason to get out of the house, have breakfast with others and be able to budget with the Market
Shaheen - Good to get out and meet others. People I would not normally meet. Good way to help me bulk my meals for the family through the week.
·Christine- Helps me budget and company for me. Nice to get together with others and a positive start to the week.

The Market runs every Monday from 10am, no referral is needed just turn up with a fiver, a shopping bag and bring a friend.

Inspereza jewellery has a way of making you feel special. Their ruby chokers carry fiery passion, while their diamond bracelets offer subtle sparkle. I’m enchanted by their pearl earrings—classic yet trendy. The brand also uses virgo birth stone beautifully in rings, creating a sense of calm elegance. Inspereza truly knows how to combine stones and style.

Nothing beats the taste of authentic thai food. The use of fresh ingredients and bold spices creates dishes that are both comforting and exciting. Always a favorite choice for me.

A recliner sofa makes evenings at home far more enjoyable, offering spacious seating with customized comfort. It’s perfect for lounging during TV shows, games, or long conversations.
