Are you doing anything Thursday night?

Thursday night is virtual quiz night on our WhatsApp History Buffs group. It's not just about history, It varies each week from general knowledge, music, geography, and picture quizzes. It started off being for our beneficiaries but it's that much of a laugh staff, volunteers, committee members and families all join in too! Some of us have never met but it really feels like we are amongst friends.

If you would like to join us please contact Kathryn on 07592003595 or Fran on 07743687053

It's a great distraction from everything that is going on in the world at the moment and gives everyone something to look forward to. Its not just a quiz- it is a time for people to come together, chat, catch up and have a really good laugh.

Here's what some of our participants have said

David: I feel that the quiz is a great social event and it means a lot to the group members because it is a chance to exercise your brain in a fun and light hearted manner without any judgments or exclusions. It has become the focal point for many peoples week.

It is not just a quiz though, it is a communal social evening where people exchange memories and ideas.

Kev: Both myself and Maureen look forward to the quiz.

Martin: I really look forward to it

Kim: Thursday nights it's a couple of hours were you can forget everything. Joining in is so much fun the banter is great a right laugh I don't do quizzes as a rule but really look forward to this one. I'm so glad we've got you on Thursday nights it would be awful with no quiz to look forward too

Jean: I really enjoy doing the quiz, its always a good laugh and you get to learn new things about each other love how everyone gets on and always support each other.

It connects people and we get to laugh and joke with each other. For isolated people it gives them a lift. Something to look forward to and compete also. Even if, like itself I don't know the majority of the people, I still fit in and am accepted.
