Dementia Awareness Week  Afternoon Tea and Bake Sale and Tombola

Wow! We are blown away by the support we received for the Afternoon Tea and Bake Sale, over 50 of you walked through the doors  and supported our fundraiser for Dementia UK.

We decided to hold this event to raise some funds for Dementia UK, as most of us have been touched by Dementia in some way, and to be able to tie this in with a treat, seemed the way to go.

You can’t go wrong with an Afternoon Tea, and a good tombola, everyone seemed to really enjoy themselves. It was a good chance to have a catch up with everyone over a cuppa.

Diana and her walking group did a 7 mile walk on Sunday and raised over £100, thank you all!

We have raised over £300 so far, but will  know the final figure later this week.  Watch this space….

A big thank you for all the donations of cakes and buns. Thanks  to everyone who purchased a ticket. Thanks to the ladies who managed to almost sell out on the tombola!  We would also like to say thank you to our Forum Committee Frances, Kathy, Lynn and Owen for all their hard work in organising this event, waitressing on the day and manning the  Bake Sale. Thanks to the cooking group for preparing the sandwiches.  What a fantastic team effort. Without all of you, it would not have been the success it was.

T – Such a lovely place as ever, good selection of food and sweet treats.  Also good to see my friends again, proud to donate towards Dementia.

C – Enjoyed the company and good food.  This centre is a blessing, so much variety of things to do.

L – Had a really nice time, enjoyed working as a team on the tombola.
