A bit of a do at the Community Allotment!!
We couldn’t have asked for a better day for our end of summer season allotment bash! The sun was out not a rain cloud in sight! If you know The West End Centre you will know we like nothing better than a bit of bash so any excuse will do!!
We have had another great season at the community allotment with lots of fruit and veggies, friendships, laughter and learning new things. We have seen some new faces this year who are now regulars and have told us they will keep coming back as they love it so much! A great space, friendly, relaxing, good for the mind and body!!
We foraged sweetcorn, lettuce, beans, onions, tomatoes, courgette and cucumbers from the allotment and everyone helped to make various salads to go along side our BBQ burgers. We cooked some fresh beetroot a first for some people who were pleasantly surprised by the taste! Always good to try new things.
Dot“ My first time up here and I can’t believe I’ve never been before . It is lovely ! “ “ Nice to be introduced to Fresh beetroot! “ “ So lovely here “
Kevin P “ It is lovely to get out after not been able to and be around lovely people. I’m going to try come to centre on Tuesday “
Mona” Got some nice raspberries to make a pie with “ “ Lovely, fresh, and nice to be here “
Lorraine D “ Thank you Dan, Morgan , Kim and everyone for been a team . Working together to make this happen.”
Super Kev “ Its nice to be out , a moment away from life “
Sandra “ I freshly picked the Cucumber, courgettes and love been up here “
A big thank you to everyone who came to the open day, to everyone who has supported our community allotment and for all the donations of seeds, plants and all the help and support we have received over the season, without you the community allotment would not be the success it is.
You can still join our allotment group on a Thursday, for now we are still at the community allotment but we will bring our activities inside once the weather changes. Give us a call on 07592003595 before coming to check where we are.
