Weeding, watering, planting and celebrating!

It’s all been quiet on the allotment front this last few weeks so here’s an update on what we have been up to.

We love any excuse to celebrate so during Eid week we held an Eid party at the Allotment, everyone brought in a dish of food to share. We were spoilt for choice with curries, salad, kebabs, samosas quiches etc. We fired up the BBQ to make some chapatis using the Kitty’s Bread Making Kits. Good time was had by all.

Steve told us "It was nice to try some different foods, the curry was my favourite, loved the chapatis on the BBQ"
Sandra told us "Worked hard pulling the Garlic, but was worth it, feel better when I am busy working especially in the fresh air"

Last week we held our annual plant sale, a big thanks to all who came and supported this event. We sold out of most things and the few plants we had left have been planted in the allotment.

At this time of year, the weeds are prolific so it’s constant weeding and watering. We pulled up all our garlic which weighed in at 5 kilos! This is a brilliant crop. That bed now has lettuce, Pak Choi, and radishes in it.
