Jeans too tight? Read on....

Life in lockdown had disrupted all our lives, and because of the change in lifestyle many of us have found our eating drinking and exercise habits have also changed considerably.

I knew I had put a bit of weight on, my jeans were feeling rather tight! but it was still a shock when I got on the scales earlier this week, and I'm by far the only one, people on social media have been joking about the 'Quarantine 15'

We have all been in an unknown and quite frightening situation, so some change in diet is to be expected (they don't call it comfort eating for nothing!) but for me and many others we have spoken with over the last couple of weeks, now is the time to start getting back into good habits.

Being overweight or obese has recently been linked to greater risk of complications or even death from Covid as well as the known risks from so called lifestyle diseases such as high blood pressure, diabetes and heart disease.

To try and combat these risks the Government has launched its Better Health Campaign

which has pulls together a range of fantastic tools and support to help us start shifting the pounds.

But what else do we need to make sure we stand the best chance of success? How can we support you to lose weight and get fitter in a fun and accessible way? - one suggestion has been friendship and support to keep going, maybe a whatsapp group for us to share hints, tips, motivation and recipes.

What could we call it?? Do you have any other suggestion or ideas on how we could best support people to be the healthiest they can? please let us know. Everyone is welcome to join us in our push to be as ready to fight Covid as possible.
